Join the Missouri Department of Conservation, the South Grand Community Improvement District, and the Grow Native! program for a day-long stormwater management workshop for project planners and landscape professionals. Participants will examine the South Grand Boulevard Rain Gardens as a case study on stormwater design strategy and maintenance, hear first-hand from designers and stewards of the gardens, and ultimately apply learned knowledge and techniques from the book Native Plants for Stormwater Management: Species Selection for the Lower Midwest during a hands-on planting project. Additional topics covered by this workshop include the benefits of native vegetation and stormwater management, assessing site conditions and environmental stressors, and planting strategies.
